One of our my go to’s on the chinese menu, but honestly making it yourself tastes so much better! Crunchy, and packed with a great blend of fresh and grounded seasonings. With our likkle twist on it too! This is a must try recipe
INGREDIENTS
1kg Chicken wings
Vegetable oil enough for shallow fry
For chicken
200ml Chinese cooking wine
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 1/2 tbsp Chinese five spice seasoning
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
200g cornflour
For garnish
Heaped tbsp butter
1 large onion sliced or diced
3 spring onions sliced or diced
1 scotch bonnet pepper sliced or 1-2 tbsp chilli flakes
6 cloves garlic diced
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp Chinese five spice
First get your oil ready, pour vegetable oil into a deep pot for a good shallow fry
Cut your wings in to drummets and wingettes. Season chicken with Chinese cooking wine, ginger, Chinese five spice, salt, black pepper, and mix together. Then add to a bowl with the corn flour and coat and combine.
Place the chicken wings carefully into the frying oil, to cram the pot make sure your giving enough space for the chicken to fry. Fry till golden brown for around 8-10 minutes until cooked.
In a large and deep frying pan, add butter, onions, spring onions, scotch bonnet, garlic cloves, season with salt and black pepper, and Chinese five spice and sauteee till softened. Turn down the heat, Add your chicken wings and toss till fully coated
