1 litre water
1kg Punna yam Peeled
650g Steak of your choice
Olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp. Mixed herbs
1 tsp. Paprika
1 tsp. Ground pimento
3 tbsp. Butter
500ml milk of your choice
1 tsp. Mixed herbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp. Brown sugar
1 tbsp. Parsley
1 tbsp. Paprika
3 garlic cloves
1 scotch bonnet
Peel and wash Yam then cut into cubes, bring water to a boil and cook until Yam is tender.
Add steak to a bowl and add olive oil, then season with salt, black pepper, mixed herbs, ground pimento, then marinate together.
Drain water from Yam then add butter and milk, season with salt, black pepper and mixed herbs. Mash with a potato masher until smooth with little lumps.
Now in a frying pan add butter on a medium heat and melt, then add garlic, parsley, water then mix into a sauce.
Add oil to a frying pan, cook steak for 7-10 minutes on each side (or to your preference), during that time add garlic cloves and scotch bonnet to add flava to the oil.
Serve with some steamed green vegetables.
