What a day!
We’re still pinching ourselves after appearing live on ITV’s This Morning, the UK’s biggest and most watched daytime TV show.
It was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement, nerves and plenty of Caribbean flavour.
For us, this moment meant so much more than just appearing on TV. When we first started Original Flava almost 10 years ago, we’d film recipes in our nan’s kitchen with This Morning playing in the background. We’d always say to her, “One day we’ll be cooking on that show.”
This week, that dream became a reality.
On the show, we cooked our Steak & Scotch Bonnet Mango Salad from our brand new cookbook, Easy Caribbean. It’s a fresh, vibrant dish packed with bold Caribbean flavours and one of our favourite recipes from the book.
The response couldn’t have been better. Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary loved the dish, the whole studio crew tucked in after the show, and hearing Alison say, “Craig & Shaun, you guys smashed it!” was a moment we’ll never forget.
Moments like this remind us why we started Original Flava all those years ago—to share the food we grew up with and show just how exciting Caribbean cooking can be.
A huge thank you to the entire This Morning team for making us feel so welcome. We had the best time and hope to be back in the kitchen again soon!
