If you’re trying to look good this summer, you’ve got to be eating food that excites you. Recipes like this don’t just taste good – they make you feel good too.

Ingredients

Protein:

  • 400g ribeye steak, cut into 3–4 cm cubes

  • 300g large raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)

Seasonings:

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • 4 tbsp avocado oil

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • ½ tsp dried parsley

Garlic & Herb Sauce:

  • 75g fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • ½ Scotch bonnet, finely diced

  • 4 tbsp sour cream (or low-fat mayo / plain yogurt)

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Sides:

  • Cauliflower rice (pre-made to save time)

  • Guacamole (pre-made or homemade)

Method

  1. Season the Steak
Cut the ribeye into cubes and add to a mixing bowl. Season with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.

  2. Season the Shrimp
In a separate bowl, season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.

  3. Cook the Steak
Heat 2 tbsp avocado oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook steak cubes for 3–4 minutes on each side, or to your preferred doneness. Remove and set aside.

  4. Cook the Shrimp
In the same pan, add the butter and remaining avocado oil. Cook shrimp for 3–4 minutes until pink and cooked through. Sprinkle with dried parsley. Set aside.

  5. Make the Garlic & Herb Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together sour cream (or mayo/yogurt), garlic paste, lemon juice, Scotch bonnet, and fresh parsley. Stir until smooth.

  6. Assemble Your Bowl
Start with cauliflower rice as your base. Add the cooked steak and shrimp. Spoon on some guacamole, then drizzle generously with the garlic & herb sauce.
